Course Description
Led by internationally acclaimed clinical psychologist, Professor Susan Young, with over 30 years’ experience working in the field, the course describes and defines cognitive behavioural therapy and coaching techniques leading to an approach that integrates the two models. You will learn evidence-based strategies to help ADHD clients with inattention, impulsivity, organisation, time-management, problem-solving, decision-making, substance use, sleep problems, interpersonal relationships, communication and emotional dysregulation (anxiety, frustration, anger and low mood). Each module consists of interactive components and includes video demonstrations, of Susan applying these techniques with a young woman with ADHD. The final module covers one of the most important aspects of working with ADHD, how to build a strong therapeutic alliance and navigate obstacles in treatment.
