‘What do we do when ADHD and Autism present together?’ - despite a 21% overlap between ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, healthcare practitioners are often unsure how to proceed when it is suspected that a person has both conditions. Susan addressed this 'head on' when she led an expert multidisciplinary consensus meeting, focusing on the complexities of diagnosing this 'double deficit' in young people and adults. Susan presents the key outcomes of that meeting covering topics of assessment, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.

‘What are the Risks of Untreated ADHD and the Benefits of Treated ADHD?  - Susan talks about the negative outcomes of not treating ADHD, including antisocial behaviour, substance use, mortality, driving violations, deliberate self-harm, suicidal and sexual behaviours. Drawing on what is reported in research published in the scientific literature, Susan then re-examines the evidence-base for how these risks may be ameliorated with treatment and recommends a treatment plan to address a person's psychological, behavioural, educational and occupational needs.
